BLOODS BANTER Round 17
A cold day in Ballarat last Saturday but thankfully the heavy rain didn't arrive until the last quarter of the Senior game. It was a disappointing start to the day with our Unders on the end of a 63 point defeat. With only 17 players the boys were always going to be facing a difficult task. Jonesy was named best afield for the Bloods, with Jai and Bailey among our better players on the day. Our Reserves also struggled against a determined Ballarat outfit - it took until the final quarter to register our first and only goal for the match. JMac was named best on ground. We are clinging onto 6th spot in the Reserves and with a couple of other results going our way last weekend we are still in the hunt for a finals position. The Seniors were slow out of the blocks but were able to grind out a 28 point win. Four goals to both Braedan Kight and Mark Orr were crucial to the end result. In Netball we enjoyed wins in the B Grade and D Grade. Two teams are holding spots in the finals D Grade and the 19 and Unders.
We look forward to hosting Sunbury this weekend. The Lions haven't missed a finals series since joining the BFL and need to win this to remain in the hunt, while we will be looking to consolidate our spot in the Top 6 with a win. The Senior game promises to be a beauty with plenty on the line for both clubs. The game is being broadcast on 97.9FM – tune in for commentary if you’re in the car at the ground, or unable to make it to MacPherson Park.
When you arrive on Saturday, make sure you grab a coffee from our new coffee machine in the canteen. A lot of work went into getting it up and running so a big thank you to everyone who had a part to play from sourcing the equipment and supplies, installation, training, and game day operations.
