In the middle of a typically dreary Christchurch autumn my mind typically turns to thoughts of spring and more importantly getting to hang out with the best bunch of blokes ever to grace the slightly wonky ovals of CAFL.
That's right, its almost less than five months until the Eagles march to glory begins again.
Before continuing it is important to note the Eagles who represented NZ and The South Pacific over ANZAC weekend in Wellington. So well done from all of us to Josh Robles, Stanley Chung, Andy Howison and Cogs for coaching the South Pacific team.
A special congratulations goes to Andy 'Howie' Howison for picking up NZ senior player of the year and captaining the NZ side against AIS.
There have also been a few inquiries through the Eagles website by prospective players and if any of you have been recruiting around the place then get your mates emails to Me (Sweaty) and invite them to the facebook group.
The season is likely to start in late August so keep your eyes peeled for pre-season training to start some time in the next wee while. A Sunday fun day with a bbq has also been mooted so watch out for that too.
We are also looking to have a meeting/belated prizegiving in the upcoming weeks at the Avonhead so keep an eye onFacebook.
Looking forward to another season of AFL based shenanigans,
