TOM GLEESON JOINS THE 100 CLUB
Try and make the effort to travel to Wallan tomorrow to join in the celebration of this marvellous achievement by another one of our younger brigade.
Wallan are holding their 20th Anniversary of their 1992 premiership, they beat us, so they are sure to have a large crowd, we need to show that the BURRA ARMY are proud of their club and be there in NUMBERS.
Thomas Gleeson - 100 games for Diggers Rest
Another member of our group of 22 year olds joins the 100 GAME CLUB this week.
Thomas joined the DRF & NC in 2007 after playing his junior football at
Bacchus Marsh Football Club for seven years.
In his first year at Diggers he enjoyed a stellar year playing several
senior games and finishing Runner Up in the Under 18's best and fairest.
Thomas was also a member of the interleague side. The following year he captained the Under 18's as well as being Vice Captain of the inter league side, won the Best and Fairest of the under 18's and was also a member of the senior side that played in the grand final loss to Riddell FC, a day he still regards as the worst day in his life.
Such is his passion for the DRF & NC he longs for the day that he is a part of a successful grand final team. Being deputy Vice Captain of Diggers for the last two years he believes his best football is still to come.
The Club has been improved because of the involvement of Tom and his entire family and believes that the future of the Club is good with the development of Tom and his fellow young brigade.
His parents state that it has been a pleasure to see Tom develop into the person and leader he is today. They are so proud.
Congratulations to Michelle and Shane Marchewka who recently added to our brood with a boy, Lenny. Well done to you both and seeing how proud grand dad John was on Thursday night we are sure we have another star in the making.
