Seniors
The Seniors recorded their first win in B Section, holding on to defeat a dogged Old Ivanhoe by 9 points. After a slow start, Mazenod skipped out to a three-goal lead in the second before Old Ivanhoe pegged the margin back to an even two goals at half time.
The second half was see-sawing affair as Mazenod looked to kick away on several occasions before Ivanhoe clawed their way back into the match. With only minutes left on the clock, there was less than a kick separating the teams, but the Nodders held their nerve and iced the game.
Dean Kelly imposed himself up forward with four goals while Gus Patti was back to dominant best in the ruck and Rob Mann continued his impressive early-season form in the middle. Recent recruit, Jack Fitzpatrick also showed plenty in his first senior game with the club. The former Bunyip Best and Fairest winner was solid at centre-half back, allowing Byron Bonner to go forward and kick three goals.

Thirds
The Thirds suffered a number of mid-week injuries, leaving them undermanned against Old Trinity. Although the defense, led by Nick Graham and Rhys Driver, remained tight, the attack was a little light-on. Sean Bamblett-Furner was his usual dominant self, but the end result was a 68-point defeat.
Best Players: S. Bamblett-Furner, N. Graham, R. Driver, D. Micallef, N. Klavins, S. Davis
Under 19s
The Under 19s were very impressive in their 10-goal defeat of University Blacks. After a tentative start, the Nodders slammed on five goals to one to take command of the match. They then kicked another six in the third to end the contest.
Patrick Cincotta showed that he is capable of playing senior football very soon, kicking three goals from the midfield, while Declan Fowler again showed his class with four. Francis Palleschi ran all day and was named BOG.
Goal Kickers: D. Fowler 4, P. Cincotta 3, M. Giuliano 2, J. Di Nezza 2, X. Patti , F. Palleschi , D. Hayes
Best Players: F. Palleschi, D. Hayes, N. Peck, X. Patti, D. Fowler, M. Harris
Under 18 (Colts)
The Under was re-named the VAFA Colts, but it made no difference to the promising Mazenod side that accounted for St. Bernards by 33 points. The young Nodders were always in control, kicking three in the opening term while holding their opponents scoreless.
Daniel Mydaras and Matthew McLellan were named best, while Kieren McKeogh kicked four goals for the second week succession.
Goal Kickers: K. McKeogh 4, J. Winn , A. Dal Santo , M. Consolmagno , J. Carroll , J. Welsford
Best Players: D. Mydaras, M. McLellan, J. Welsford, J. Winn, M. Consolmagno, N. Beovich
