We are delighted to announce the signings of seven more players ahead of the 2014 season!
Daniel Younan - One of the standout players in our development side in 2012, Danny sadly injured his ACL 5 minutes into our first practice match of 2013. He's worked incredibly hard to return, and we are excited to have his positive influence back on the field. Danny was named the Graham Douglas Award winner in 2013 for being the best club person, attending nearly every session despite injury, and hosting the much enjoyed 'Coburg TV' with Jake Anderson.
Riley Hogan - A 2012 Development Premiership Player, Riley is a natural athlete with impressive endurance, speed and an impressive leap. His improvement over the last two seasons has been huge, and we look forward to seeing where Riley can take his game this season.
Ben Sortino - Our 2012 Development Premiership Ruckman, 'Sorts' has proven to be a valuable key position asset despite being undersized for a Ruckman. His commitment around the ground results in our midfielders gaining first possession on most occasions, and he has a good football brain.
Nick Dundon - Another player coming into his third season at the club, Nick has had injury troubles since joining from Seymour, but is looking to put a strong pre-season together. Nick plays off Half-Back and has proven to be a very reliable player in his time with the club so far.
Andrew Sturgess - 24 year old Andrew joins us from Eltham, where he has played 48 senior games over the past three seasons, regularly being named amongst the best for the side. A former Northern Knight, Andrew has already impressed on the training track, and can play both in the midfield and up forward.
Paul (Gatluak) Johnson - Big 'PJ' joins Coburg from Frankston, where he impressed in the Development side before injuring his foot and missing a large portion of the season. The former Oakleigh Charger of Sudanese background has an impressive leap, and is capable of playing both forward and Ruck. We're really excited to have such a great team man like Paully with Coburg in 2014.
Matthew Fairbairn - Matt is a key defender who has also plied his trade for Frankston in the past. After strong seasons in 2011 and 2012, a shoulder injury sidelined Matt for the majority of 2013, and saw him play with the Pines Football Club. Now fully recovered, we are looking forward to getting the best out of Matt this year.
