Daniel Venditti was crowned the winner of the 2013 Jim Sullivan Best and Fairest at Coburg's Best and Fairest Night on Saturday.
The classy midfielder's consistency throughout the season was reward as he pulled away in the later rounds to win the Jim Sullivan Award on 57 votes, a comfortable 10 votes ahead of his nearest challenger, Richmond's Robin Nahas.
Nahas headed a host of players who finished within a few votes of each other on 47, while Captain Nick Carnell finished third with 46.
There was a three way tie for Fourth on 45 votes between Richmond big men Tom Derickx and Liam McBean, as well as Coburg's favourite back pocket Tom Groves.
Ben Darrou, Matt McDonough, Steven Verrier and Todd Elton all tied on 44 votes.
'Ditti' joined Coburg at the start of the 2012 season after moving across from Perth, and quickly established himself as one of Coburg's key midfielders. This year he was added to the leadership group, and went from strength to strength as the season progressed.
Venditti was quick to thank the coaches, especially Tim Clarke and Mario Lirosi, as well as his parents, who have been ever supportive from back in Western Australia.
The 26 year-old has over 50 game of Senior State Football experience now, and finished fourth in the award last season, was a very popular winner among the players, with 'Ditti' getting a big call by the players after his name was read each round.
In the Development Best and Fairest Count, Liam 'Kingy' Brandt held off a late challenge from Tyrone Bean to win on 29 votes in his second season at the club. After finishing runner up last season, Kingy went one better and is now looking to establish himself in the Senior team next year as we go stand alone.
The Runner-Up award was a great reward for Bean, in his first season at the club. The Half-Back flanker was reliable all season, playing every game in Development.
