The reserves vote count saw playing coach Darren Klein take out the best and fairest with 65 votes. Daniel Brodie follwed as runner up with 44 votes while our new recruit Jarryd Hill who played only half a season took out third spot. After a successfull year with a finals appearance it was a fitting way for the reserves and their coach to finish off season 2009.
Other award winners on the night were:
Daniel Ruffle: Coaches Award, Adam Stafford: Most Courageous & Ian Hamilton: Most Improved.
The seniors vote count saw Ben Higgins take out the major honours. After starting the season with a few solid games Ben dropped away throughout the middle of the season. Ben puts his return to form down to several people around the club putting some belief back in his mind giving him the confidence to regain his form. Bens second half of the season was a major boost for the side and a crucial part of another successful relegation battle. A well deserved winner. Another club favourite Jarrod Witnish took out runner up with 76 votes. Another stellar season from a young player with plenty of room to improve. The future looks exciting with several of these young players including Jarrod ready to pounce. Senior captain James Quilty finished off the top three with 68 votes. After an interupted pre season, James fought hard to regain his fitness in order to help the club and his team mates achieve a crucial result in 09'. A hard woking player who's contribution on field matched his contribution off field. All three winners thoroughly deserved their titles and the club congratulates them on their efforts.
