Luke Phipps has been appointed Senior Footy Coach for Season 2012.
Luke has a sound footy background playing under many coaches across a wide range of Leagues from VFA to the WRFL. He has already spoken to a large majority of last years playing group and they are all looking forward to a successful season 2012.
Training will commence on Weds 16th of November and on Friday evening the 18th after training the club will have a meet the coach night for all members if they wish to come along. It will also be a chance to meet all the recuits for next year who have come to the club due to Lukes influence.
Lukes playing history is as follows:-
Spotswood WRFL Div1 1997-1998 & 2001(played in losing GF "98")
Williamstown VFL 1999-2000 (Senior VFL debut "99" & Reserve B&F same year)
West Footscray WRFL Div1 2002
Epping NFL(former DVFL) 2003-2005

His ambitions for Werribee Centrals:
After being contacted by a number of clubs to take up a coaching role, the decision to take on the Werribee Centrals job was quite an easy one, the club has been deep in the finals for the past 3 years and with a few new faces and the already talented list, the opportunity for the club to take the next step and achieve the ultimate prize is very much a part of my plans. With the knowledge that D.Leatch and S.Neilson are staying on in a assistant capacity, my job to go out and find a good young group of talented recruits has been made much easier. With new players coming to the club this will mean a healthy competition for spots in the seniors and will in turn create a stronger reserves team. With the 18's having a break out year this year and with some of them gaining valuable senior experience, this can only be an advantage for next year and the years to come. My goal is to create a strong club on all levels and to have all levels compete in finals in 2012.
