Great news for the Panton Hill Football Club in season 2015.
Tyler "TJ" Scarce taking third in the Division 2 NFL Best & Fairest with 21 votes to back up his 2014 Division 2 outright BnF.
What is also encouraging for the Club is that we also 8 other players poll votes amongst some pretty strong competition ...
That's 9 Redbacks in the votes !
Meanwhile, other teams coaches like our team too ... TJ and Mitch Anderson in the top 5 Division 2 Coaches Player of the Year !
With new signings to be announced in coming weeks adding to those already signed, the future on-field looks good for the Hillers.
However, all this is supported by an enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes.
You can go to the MCG to watch a game on a Friday night that was attended by more than 60,000 fans ... all eating and drinking ... and then you go to another match the following day at The G.
You WILL NOT notice that all the drink cups that were "secretly placed" beneath the seats, the burger wrappers that were cast aside and somehow missing the bins, ARE ALL GONE !
It's the work that goes on overnight, early morning and behind the scenes so that when the siren goes for the start of that game the next day, all that we notice is the footy !!!
This "after hours" work is what happens at our club too just so the players can get on the ground and that the supporters can enjoy their local club.
The NFL recognises this work with its NFL Senior Club of the Year award.
Criteria for the award includes being up to date with NFL affiliation fees, on-field behaviour, off-field behaviour and supporter experience on match day, attendance or representation at NFL events, seminars or meetings, day-to-day dealings with NFL staff as well as match day paperwork, media reports and Coach contributions ...
Panton Hill Football Club received this prestigious award in 2014.
This year, 2015, six clubs were nominated and again, Panton Hill was in it !!!
Says a lot for how our club is so highly regarded by the NFL ...
... And ... we still have the best canteen ... Simon Minton-Connell of Fitzroy Stars said he couldn't wait for the Stars to play at Cracknell Reserve so he could buy "the best burger" around ...
... And ... the general word around the league is that we have the best hospitality of any luncheon ...
In season 2016, we have something to prove on-field and the work has already started.
Go Hillers !!!
