If you enjoy playing Australian Rules football and are 35 years of age (or will be turning 35 at any time in the current playing year) then why not come and play for the Northern Districts AFL Masters Football Club. Northern Districts is located in the outer northern suburbs of Melbourne, Australia and comprises past players from many different local clubs. The club currently plays in the AFL Masters - Victorian Metropolitan League (North Division) and has teams in both the (35+) and (45+) competitions. Northern Districts provides a link where friends made at local or opposing clubs over the years can continue to meet, keep fit, and play and offers excellent social activities for players and families alike. The club provides first class facilities with the modern Waterview Recreation Reserve, (Mernda Football Ground) being utilised for training and Yulong Reserve (Bundoora Football Ground) for home games. Games are played fortnightly (on Sundays) which allows time for family commitments (and recovery). Game commencement times (subject to change) are; (35+) 2:45pm, (35+ Reserves) 12:45pm & (45+) 11:00am. Players are encouraged to attend our regular training and skills sessions. See Training. About 'AFL Masters' Football The AFL Masters - Victorian Metropolitan League has several divisions with varying age groups from (35+) to (50+) for men and (35+) for women. The league provides successful players with the chance of representing Vic Metro in National 'AFL Masters' Carnivals. See Vic Metro. AFL Masters has association with leagues in every state and territory in Australia. The National 'AFL Masters' football carnival is held in different cities each year giving participating players (and their families) the opportunity to travel and meet people within the football fraternity Australia wide. Teams compete for National honours in varying age groups from (35+) to (60+) for men and (35+) for women. AFL Masters has a ‘Hall of Fame’ and players can earn ‘All-Australian’ selection.
