2011 Rudimch Government/Business League: MOF Omsangel, Mason’s Hardware win division crown

Ministry of Finance (MOF) Omsangel and Mason’s Hardware won their respective division crowns after beating rivals in the finals of the 2011 season of the Rudimch Enterprise Government/Business League at the Palau National gym.

MOF Omsangel wasted no time as they closed their best of three championship series in the Government division after beating MPIIC, 72-70 in Game Two. MOF Omsangel closed their series with a 2-0 count with John Stills leading the way with 23 points while Melngis and Mekeruul Ueki had identical 15 baskets for MPIIC.

On the other hand, Mason’s Hardware showed poise as they bested a tough Neco team, 66-62 in Game Three in the Business division. Mason’s Hardware closed their series with a 2-1 count with Reid Una Rikrik leading the way with 21 points while Bon-Bon Pramo topscored for Neco with 15 on the losing end.

After the division finals, the league is now in the season finals wherein the top eight teams in the Government division will face the top eight teams in the Business division. The season finals will follow a knock out game with the best teams surviving till the championship round.

Last Friday night, Government division champ MOF Omsangel continued its winning ways as they blast Sam’s Sharks, 104-91. John Stills and teammate Weston topscored for MOF Omsangel with identical 30 points, respectively while Frankie Kuchad had 25 for Sam’s Sharks on the losing end.

In other games, MPIIC won over PRR Dragons, 88-81; Neco bested MOE Spiders, 85-71; PPR Shark Attack defeated PNOC/PBRA Mercury Optimax, 85-77; Mason’s Hardware dumped PPUC Kamik, 119-75; Fish and Fins Hunters outscored Koror State Government, 63-58; SDA Crusaders escaped MOJ Cops, 75-71 and team Spoilers drubbed PNCC Molekoi, 139-67.

Games will resume tonight with MOF Omsangel taking on SDA Crusaders at 6 p.m. while MPIIC will face team Spoilers in the main game at 7:30 p.m.

Winners will advance to the semi finals which will be played on November 17.
