Kryptonite takes first finals seat in WNBL

Team Kryptonite marked their appearance in the finals after beating Belias Underdawgs, 94-41, Wednesday night in the ongoing 2012 IP&E Women’s National Basketball League played at the Palau National gym.

Kryptonite showed dominance as they erected a 40-17 lead at the end of the first half. From there Kryptonite shed little sweat as they went all the way to take the win and advance to the championship series with Mahealani Adelbai finishing with 24 points as teammates Lucy Aguon and Alexandra Foster chipping in 16 and 14 baskets, respectively.

Despite the lost, Belias Underdawgs will get to bounce back as they will play in the consolation game.

Kryptonite will face the winner of the Peched Red-team Money match which is still playing as of this writing. The loser will play Belias Underdawgs.

In other games, Kryptonite won over Smooth Riders, 61-31 and Smooth Riders bested Odesangel Islanders, 44-43. The tournament supervised and organized by the Palau Basketball Federation (PBF).  By Peter Erick L. Magbanua (Island Times News)
