Competing in Hot Conditions (!)

HEAT POLICY

With the temperature soaring today; and this weekend; it is a timely reminder for all of the need to be conscious of the heat and to take appropriate steps to manage the impact on our players:

> Ensure all fans are turned on (where applicable);

> Compulsory time outs at 10 min mark of each half
(x2 compulsory timeouts – 14 min mark and 7 min mark - if only 5 players in team);

> A reminder to increase fluid intake - please bring water bottles and other fluids as applicable!

> JBS – ice eskies should be set up next to score bench on each court, with ice bags for players to use when they come off the court (may need to replenish during the day as necessary);

> Constant look out for any signs of players overheating.

If sighted, inform coach immediately to remove player from court and to take appropriate action.

Stadium side doors must remain closed for security purposes, we're sorry - but this club policy must be adhered to.

We plead for common sense and vigilance from our stadium users and members, as these very hot competition days can be hard going, so it's about looking after yourselves and one another.

If you have any questions, or see or experience any distress, please contact the rostered Games Manager immediately.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
