CARNGHAM-LINTON joint coach Jason Hill says his team is playing its best football during his time at the club ahead of Saturday's Lexton Plains Football League senior grand final.
Hill, who won the Peter Smith Medal as the league's best and fairest player last month, oozed confidence at yesterday's grand final media conference despite the Saints being unable to defeat the Emus in their three clashes this season.
"In my time at the club this is as good as we have played, for sure," Hill said.
"We have hit the right form at the right time of the year."
Hill said the Saints would have a full squad of players to pick from as they looked to secure a fourth consecutive premiership, including himself. Hill has battled osteitis pubis for much of the season.
"It is going to take months of rest to get it better, but it's not getting any worse either," he said.
"I'm just going to push through the first half of the game and hopefully we are in front by enough so that I can rest a bit easier in the second half.
"We will have one or two who will put their hand up to push for selection for this game."
Hill's counterpart, Emus coach Tim McKay, is also expecting a full list to choose from.
McKay, who has been missing with a knee injury since booting five goals against Navarre in late July, will give himself every chance of shaping up in time to play on Saturday.
"It's come on okay," he said.
"I'll get through (training tonight) and put my hand up."
McKay said his team was well prepared for Saturday's clash, which will mark the seventh time the two clubs have played off in a LPFL senior grand final since 2000.
"We have prepared no differently, (but) obviously your intensity picks up in the finals," he said.
The LPFL senior grand final will be held at Learmonth, with the opening bounce scheduled for 2.45pm.
