NORTH Footscray will be hoping to redeem themselves on Saturday when they take on premiership fancies Caroline Springs at Town Centre Oval.
The last time these two powerhouses met, the Lakers spoiled the Devils party, winning by seven points at Hansen Reserve.
Caroline Springs are coming off the bye and will be fresh and ready to fire, while the Devils will head into the match full of confidence after disposing of Glen Orden by 113-points at the weekend.
An eight goal to one second quarter for the home side was the difference, with the Devils opening up an unassailable 58-point lead.
After half-time it was one way traffic for North Footscray, as they piled on 15 goals to five.
Tyren Montebruno led the onslaught, kicking eight goals. Zak Atkins bagged five goals and Sam Kater continued his impressive season up forward with four of his own.
Sam Crea was the shining light for Glen Orden, he kicked three goals.
Glen Orden have won just three games this season and sit in fifth place on the ladder.
The Hawks will be aiming to get its season back on track when they take on the Yarraville Seddon Eagles at Heatherdale Oval.
The Eagles won its sixth game of the 2016 season at the weekend when they defeated West Footscray by 85-points.
The match was called off early in the third quarter when an ambulance was called due to a player collapse.
There was a 30 minute delay in the match, so both clubs decided to end the game early.
Eagles star Sam Krakouer kicked a game high four goals. He has had a standout season for Yarraville so far.
The four goals ads to his tally of 26 after seven games. He is 18 goals off leader Mathew Sutton, who has booted 44 goals for Caroline Springs.
For West Footscray, Nathan Speakman kicked their only two goals.
The Roosters will next take on Manor Lakes at Shorten Reserve.
The Storm hosted Albanvale in its Round 8 match and despite a solid three quarters of football, the home side couldn’t continue its pressure in the final term, losing by 28-points.
Manor Lakes led by a point at the final change, but they couldn’t match it with the Cobras, who kicked four answered goals to win the match.
The Cobras, who were elevated to Division 2 from Division 3 at the end of last season, have now won four matches this season and sit in fourth place on the ladder.
