BRAD CONNOR (400 GAMES)
By Sophie Hammill
With only one week left until finals, Sunshine Football Club stalwart Brad Connor will celebrate his 400th milestone match in front of a home crowd at Kinder Smith Reserve.
The Division One Reserves player has been playing for Sunshine for 21 years, starting out when he was just 11-years-old.
Despite having to postpone his milestone match earlier this year after battling a knee injury, Connor said he is excited about “getting back to play finals.”
Not only is Connor a long standing member of the Sunshine Football Club, but so is his entire family.
The Connor’s are all life members of the club, with his brother also currently lacing up the boots each week for Sunshine in the seniors.
With his growing family, injury and his age all playing a part in his football future, Connor believes he will hang up the boots at the end of the season.
Despite playing at half-back and his struggles with injury, Connor has greatly assisted his side in helping the reserves to currently sit in fourth position on the ladder.
With such a successful season thus far, Connor hopes to take home another flag before he retires.
On the eve of his milestone match, Connor’s preparation hasn’t changed, treating his milestone match “just like any another game.”
To be able to finish your career with 400 games to your name is an incredible achievement. With so much experience under his belt, Connor hopes to support his children through their own football journeys at the club in the future.
With his son showing great interest in football already, there is no doubt that the Connor name will remain famous throughout the Kangaroos for many years to come.

AARON LA CHIMA (150 GAMES)
Aaron started off as an Under 9’s player and was given the nickname ‘Plugga’ at an early age.
He’s a very strong forward player who knows where the goals are and is able to involve his teammates in any passage of play. His presence is felt on and off the field.
This milestone has been a long time coming after suffering a serious ankle injury last year, sidelining him for the rest of the season and causing him to miss most of the pre-season due to several setbacks.
He is very popular and well respected amongst his peers. When given the opportunity to play reserves footy, he has done quite well for himself.
ZAC HARRINGTON (50 GAMES)
This is Zac's third season of footy after starting his career as an U18’s player. He plays the pockets well, both forward and back, and is also a team orientated player.
He always gives his best when he’s out on the ground and is well known for his character around the clubrooms. He has come a long way in his three years of footy, improving with each and every game he plays.
He has had the opportunity to play reserves footy on multiple occasions and has been able to play very well during these games.
