Preperations for the 2015 AFLNRJ Women in Football Luncheon are underway with the event once again shaping up to be one of the most memorable occasions on the football calendar.
This year, the event will be held on Friday the 7th of August from 12pm-3pm at the Italian at the Pacific, a contemporary Byron Bay restaurant positioned directly opposite Byron Bay Main Beach.
AFLNRJ are delighted to announce the following guest speakers:
Kate Lundy
Kate has an amazing story to tell from the highest level of sport in our country. In 1996, aged 28, Kate became the youngest woman from the Australian Labor Party to be elected to the federal parliament. In 2012, Lundy was appointed as the Minister for Sport. Kate is a passionate life-long supporter of Australian Sport, particularly women’s participation and fanatical Kangaroos supporter.
Gabrielle Trainor
Gabrielle’s football credentials are extremely impressive; she sits on the GWS board and is a former AFL (NSW/ACT) Commissioner. And as if that isn’t enough, Gabrielle’s father and grandfather were both Presidents of North Melbourne Football Club. She is a former journalist and lawyer and now sits on several of Australia’s most important Boards. Join us as we learn more about Gabrielle’s love of our great Australian Game.
Also presented at the Luncheon will be the 2015 AFLNRJ Club Woman of the Year award to help celebrate the valued contribution of women in our League.
And don't forget, the Luncheon is not restricted to just females! Any males at the Club are more than welcome and are guaranteed to enjoy themselves just as much!
