NATIONAL COACHES APPOINTED

The National Men’s Squad will have 4 coaches to conduct the program.  Head Coach is Johnny Kintaro, a former National Coach.  Assistant Coaches are Burton Wong (former National Coach), Yutaka Gibbons (current national player) and Rayson King, a Development Coach.

The National Women’s Squad will have George Domingo as Head Coach and George is also a former National Coach.  His assistants will be Logan Ngiriou, a former National Youth Coach and Development Coach, Happy Fritz.  Happy is the first women to be appointed to a coaching position in a national squad. 

In addition to conducting the program for these squads, the coaches will also be responsible for the selection of the National Teams from these squads and their performance at the Micronesian Games next year.

Of the 7 coaches appointed, 5 have attended the recent Level 2 Coaching Course and 1 shall be attending the forthcoming Level 1 Coaching Course.  In addition the coaches shall receive much valuable experience during the program and will be assisted by a mentor coach to add to their knowledge.

The coaches are currently in the process of selecting the national squads and selections are expected to be completed this week.  Players will be advised by letter and invited to complete their acceptance form to be a part of the program.  Only players selected into a National Squad will be eligible for selection into a National Team.   There will no longer be try-outs for players as in past years.
