15U & 17U MEN'S NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS - DAY 2 RECAP

15U MEN

P.E.I. 64 – Alberta 53

P.E.I. was able to open up their tournament with a 64-53 win over Alberta.

Noah Giddings led the way for P.E.I. with a double-double (18 points and 13 rebounds) while Jack Macaulay notched 16 in the victory.

Alberta’s Carter Mcintyre scored 12 points and added 5 rebounds in the game.

Saskatchewan 57 – New Brunswick 52

Saskatchewan was able to squeak by New Brunswick with a five point victory, 57-52.

The Saskatchewan team had a balance attack with Braeden Crone scoring 14 points and 4 rebounds, while Chan De Ciman scored 13 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the win.

Stanley Mayambo scored 13 points for New Brunswick.

Manitoba 55 – Quebec 74

Quebec was able to rebound after a loss yesterday to Ontario, by defeating Manitoba 74-55.

Quebec had three players scoring in double digits in the game (Jerome Desrosiers 20, Ethan Gabert-Doyon 16, and Malick Turenne 15).

Torrez Mckoy had a team-high 14 points for Manitoba.

Ontario 87 – British Columbia 72

Ontario was able to beat British Columbia 87-72, to improve their record to 2-0.

Daniel Cummings had a big game for Ontario by scoring 26 points and collecting 8 rebounds. Maxime Boursquot grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds in the win.

British Columbia’s Jauquin Bennett-Boire scored 20 in the game, while Ethan Scott drained 14 in the contest.

Newfoundland 61 – P.E.I. 60

Newfoundland was able to narrowly get by P.E.I. with a one point victory, 61-60.

Liam Dunphy helped Newfoundland by scoring a team-high 20 points and was followed by Brandon Bambrick who recorded 12 points.

P.E.I. had a strong game from Noah Giddings who was a rebound shy of getting his second double-double of the day (16 points and 9 rebounds).

Nova Scotia 66 – New Brunswick 65

In another tight game, Nova Scotia was able to get by New Brunswick 66-65.

Nova Scotia had a strong game out of Gage Sabean who had a team-high 19 points and Rowan Power recorded 10 rebounds in the game.

New Brunswick came up a point short, but it wasn’t for a lack of effort. Julian Roache had a double-double by scoring 20 and added 12 rebounds. Keegan Gray was dominant on the glass by bringing down 15 rebounds in the game.

17U MEN

Ontario 91 – Alberta 49

Ontario was able to keep their record without a blemish after a 91-49 win over Alberta.

Ontario was led by Marcus Lewis who had 28 points and 17 rebounds in the win.

Alberta’s Darian Smigorowsky led Alberta with 9 points and 6 rebounds.

Newfoundland 132 – Northwest Territories 27

Newfoundland was able to get by Northwest Territories, 132-27.

Newfoundland had three players score 22 points or more (Mitchell Hearn 27, Nicholas Frew 26 and Sam Prowse 22).

Laurent Isaiah was two rebounds shy of recording a double-double (12 points and 8 rebounds).

New Brunswick 71 – P.E.I. 54

New Brunswick was able to beat Atlantic rival, P.E.I. 71-54.

Erick Nissen of New Brunswick had a monster game by scoring 23 points and adding 21 boards for the game.

P.E.I. had a nice game from Mark Matheson who recorded a double-double in the loss (21 points and 11 rebounds).

Manitoba 77 – Saskatchewan 49

Manitoba was able to improve their record to 2-0 after downing Saskatchewan 77-49.

Manitoba had a great balance scoring attack with everyone getting at least 2 points in the game. Justus Alleyn led the way with 14 points.

Saskatchewan’s Atlee Simon scored 15 points and added 6 rebounds.

Nova Scotia 77 – Alberta 66

In their second game of the day, Nova Scotia was able to go 2-0 on the day after a 77-66 victory over Alberta.

Nova Scotia was led by Maurice Colley’s 26 points, while Travis Adams was a force by scoring 16 and adding 17 rebounds. Jayden Skinner-Nordin also chipped in with 20 points in the game.

Matthew Ellis led Alberta in points (18) and rebounds (12).

Northwest Territories 19 – Quebec 109

Quebec had another scoring explosion as they were able to beat Northwest Territories 109-19.

Quebec had five players finish in double digits in points in the game; Noah Daoust (23), Keevon Small (14), Abdul-Aziz Atta (13), Zachary Deziel (12) and Richardson Maitre (11).

Laurent Isiah led Northwest Territories with 6 points and 3 rebounds.
