Bryan Michaels signs with the Wolfpack in 2023

The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the signing of dual US/Australian citizen Bryan Michaels for the 2023 NBL1 West season.

Bryan brings elite level offensive talent and a depth of playing experience to the Wolfpack. No stranger to the big stage, Bryan has played a starting role at Concordia University USA, played in the New Zealand NBL league, and was also a developmental player for the Perth Wildcats.

The 26-year-old showcased a very impressive offensive game during the 2022 regular season for his former team the Warwick Senators, displaying great versatility at the Guard spot as a crafty playmaker who converts 37% of his 3-point shots, scoring 18.8 points per game with a season high of 37 points.

When asked about his signing with the Wolves, Bryan said:

“I can’t wait to be a part of the Wolfpack! The professionalism of the club from top to bottom is something that got my attention right away. You can tell how much everyone around the club wants to win and cares about the teams’ success. It makes me excited to join a squad with high expectations and goals for the season. I’m looking forward to playing in Coach Morrell’s system and playing alongside a talented group of guys.”

Wolfpack Head Coach David Morrell said:

“Bryan is a big-time addition to our team and immediately elevates our expectations for the year. He’s a guy that checks all the boxes as an impact player that will help us win. Most importantly, he’s the type of high character person that will contribute well to a great culture of guys who are unselfish, hard- working, and want to win above everything else. Bryan carries himself the right way with professionalism and can immediately come in as a leader for us.

On the court, he’s a dynamic playmaker that the defence must account for. Last year he averaged 18.8ppg while shooting almost 40% from 3, 57% true shooting percentage, and is a top tier 3-level scorer. In pick and roll situations he can make all the reads and all the plays – finishing at the rim or making a play for someone else. As a playmaker he can create easy shots for teammates. Defensively he can be a stopper and guard multiple positions. We are really excited to add Bryan to the Wolfpack!”

Bryan Michaels joins signed players Jonathon Wade and American import CJ Turnage for the 2023 NBL1 West Season.
