Dear WABL Families,

We understand there has been some questions in relation to the WABL wind up being held on Thursday the 22^nd now it has been declared a public holiday. The WBA has extensively investigated all options to ensure the best decision was made on whether to proceed or change the date. We met with stakeholders including venue staff, facility management and catering company. Unfortunately, due to major events at HBF Arena, there are no other suitable dates including before the 22^nd of September all the way through to the 11^th of October to hold the event.

For this reason, we can confirm that the WABL Wind Up will proceed as planned on Thursday the 22^nd of September at 5pm.

We understand there will be mixed emotions to this decision, and it may not suit everyone, however all other avenues and options were exhausted. With WABL try outs starting the first week of Term 4 the only other option that suited with the venue and catering was during the school holidays. However, that was determined to not be the best choice.

We will honour the National Day of Mourning with a moments silence at the beginning of the Wind Up and do our best to respectfully honour the day during the event.

We understand some of you may choose to go on holidays early or may choose to opt out of the event due to a day of mourning. Again, we apologise to those this may not suit but we look forward to acknowledging the great work and achievements by all players, coaches and staff and we hope to see you at the event.
