COVID19 UPDATE – COMMUNITY SPORT CANCELLED / PERTH & PEEL REGIONS GO INTO MANDATORY 4 DAY LOCKDOWN

As detailed in the WA Governments announcement at 8PM this evening, the Perth and Peel regions will go into a mandatory lockdown for 4 days – 12:01 Tuesday (29 June) to 12:01 Saturday (3rd July).

This lockdown means:

• ALL Community sport cancelled / postponed (Domestic, WABL & NBL1 West training)

• NBL1 West games scheduled for Friday will be postponed (further information will be sent in the coming days)

• Basketball centres will be closed during this period

• WBA offices will be closed with staff working remotely

We expect a further Government announcement later in the week and will then liaise with our stakeholders on the plans moving forward.

At this stage, we are hopeful basketball will resume normal operations on Saturday with no additional changes to our NBl1 West and WABL fixtures. We understand this is a frustrating time for many members and supporters; however, we will do our best to keep you updated as we learn more.

Our community’s safety and health are a priority, so we will continue to follow the latest guidelines and requirements.

Please ensure you follow the guidelines on the WA Government website. https://www.wa.gov.au/

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
