Staff Announcements and New Roles

 

 

 

 

 

Following record participation numbers in 2020/2021, the Wanneroo Basketball Association wishes to advise that it has commenced recruitment for a number of roles as a result of a recent review of the Associations staffing structure. The review was centred around the need to better service our ever-increasing membership base. Post COVID has seen a massive increase in growth, leading to this season being our biggest ever on record. We are currently seeing 35% growth season on season which has meant an increased workload on the volunteers and employees of our club, and a need to expand operations to additional facilities. 

In addition to the new roles that have been established, WBA will also be seeking candidates following the resignation of current Competitions and Programs Manager, Leanne Govorko, who will be transitioning into a role within the private sector. Leanne has now completed two stints with the WBA, having rejoined the Association during a period of major uncertainty after COVID in which she has led our competitions through record growth in participation numbers. We thank Leanne for her time at the WBA and wish her well in her future endeavors. Leanne will remain involved with the Association as she continues in her role as Team Manager of the NBL1 Men’s team.

Unfortunately, the WBA also wishes to advise our current Events and Administration Coordinator, Dani Pickett will be stepping aside from her casual position for an indefinite amount of time due to health reasons. We wish Dani all the best in her recovery and look forward to welcoming her back to the Wolfpack in a capacity that suits her once fully recovered.

Whilst the Association is recruiting for these additional roles, the Associations operations will continue to be managed by its capable team that is led by Andrew Summerville (Chief Executive Officer) and Mat Glasson (Basketball Operations Manager).

The following roles will be recruited for in the coming weeks:

  • Player and Coach Development Manager (readvertised);
  • Competitions and Programs Manager;
  • Competitions Coordinator (part time);
  • Administration and Events Coordinator (casual);
  • Basketball Administrator;
  • Games Managers (casual); and
  • Door Staff (casual).
