The Chambers Franklyn City of Joondalup Wolves are excited to announce the re-signing of Olivia Basso for the 2021 NBL1 West season.

The 5’7 guard joined the women’s SBL team in 2018, Olivia played 6 years in the Basketball WA’s Smarter than Smoking State Championships. Olivia has grown her basketball career from WABL to NBL1, we are looking forward to seeing what Olivia can bring to the 2021 season.

Olivia spoke to the Joondalup Wolves on her thoughts about re-signing for 2021.

“I’m extremely excited to have re-signed with the Wolves for the 2021 season. The club is so supportive, and the environment is so great to be in, making the Wolves a family unit. Everyone is so hard working and always pushing me to be the best version of myself while also learning about the game. I have a lot of people that believe in me to achieve great success and that’s something I really appreciate about the club. I absolutely love the girls and the coaching staff and I’m so lucky to be given the opportunity to be a part of such a great team again. I can’t wait for a challenging but exciting year ahead and to win another championship!”

Joondalup Wolves Women’s Head Coach Charles Nix shared his thoughts on Olivia re-signing for the NBL1 West season.

“Bobo has a skill that not a lot of players in our league have, she can shoot the ball at really high level, so she always needs to be defended on the perimeter. That in itself with get players opportunity, what I’m loving about her this preseason though is that she is really working on the areas of her game that need improvement. She is such a bubbly personality within our group and one of the players everyone loves to get around, particularly after a big make. I’m hoping she can make the strides this year to reach that potential we all see.”

Olivia will be joining Kayla Steindl, Nes’eya Williams, Izzy Miotti, Chelsea Belcher, Amy Kidner, Georgia Denehey, Amber Land, Alix Hayward and Tia Ucich on the Wolves Women’s roster in 2021.
