COVID Announcement - Saturday 6th Feb
The WBA advises that due to the latest State Government restrictions and under advice from Basketball Western Australia and Venues West; all junior and senior basketball competitions are cancelled until the 14th of February due to venue capacities and the requirement for players to wear masks.
Basketball WA has cancelled all competitions for all associations in the affected Perth Metro area. Some trainings can commence but unfortunately due to the 150 person capacity at HBF Arena only Sunday’s WABL training can go ahead under strict conditions. The State Government has ruled that the 150 person limit applies to the entire HBF Arena precinct. This includes the football oval, pool, gym, netball, athletics etc. Understandably this means the numbers allowed in the basketball areas of the precinct are extremely limited.
WABL players will be emailed further instructions and information for this Sundays training.
Pending no further community cases, it is our hope that basketball will resume to normal conditions from 12:01 Sunday 14th February. We will continue to update our members as the situation progresses.
