AGM | Cobras & Chris Howsam Recognised

 

 

 

 

 

On Wednesday December 5, the Wanneroo Basketball Association held its Annual General Meeting for 2018. The members in attendance heard from club President Ryan Hunter, and Treasurer Jay Wakefield, who outlined the club's strong financial performance and governance for the period.

Club CEO Cameron Britt and COO Ryan Thompson announced two special awards on the evening, the 2018 Coach and Club of the Year.

2018 Coach of the Year - Chris Howsam

 

The Wanneroo Basketball Association’s inaugural Coach of the Year was awarded to Chris Howsam.

Chris wears several hats at the Wolves, a passionate Basketball person who is committed to player development and ensuring a work ethic amongst his young athletes.

A Domestic coach with the Northside Cobras, Chris is also a 2017 & 2018 WABL Coach, and recently appointed as our club’s 2019 U16 Girls 2 WABL Head Coach, he is developing fundamentals and game craft in the Wolfpack’s representative level female players.

A coach with a bright future – a future that our club will be actively supporting. Chris wins a $500 coaching grant, to better their skills and further develop their game experience and education.

2018 Club of the Year - Northside Cobras 

The Wanneroo Basketball Association’s Club of the Year was awarded to the Northside Cobras Basketball Club.

The Cobras, the Association's newest junior affiliated junior club, were recognised for their outstanding efforts in establishing themselves professionally since incorporation, negotiating impressive sponsorships and quickly building a club culture of inclusion and player development.

Cobras President Adrian Mazzucchelli accepted the award, on behalf of the club and his fellow Committee, and spoke passionately about what the club has achieved in a relatively short period of time.
