Our Vision: The Destination of Choice for Basketball
The Wanneroo Basketball Association Board recently received two recommendations - relating to A] an increase to referee remuneration, and B] a nominal increase to door fees.
Both recommendations relate to making our Association and stakeholders better, supporting and financing our ongoing pursuit of quality and excellence.
The following outcomes were recently determined;
Referee Per Game Rate Increase
The Joondalup Basketball Referees Association (JBRA) presented a proposal to the Board and Management of the WBA for consideration of a 'per game' rate increase for all referees.
The Board accepted this proposal as warranted and appropriate, and as such have unanimously endorsed and applied a pay increase [$1 per game, per referee on average] to the requisite capability levels for all referees officiating WBA competitions, including Junior and Senior Domestic Basketball.
The JBRA are acknowledged for their ongoing work and pursuit of officiating high standards, and this remuneration increase supports and endorses recognition, retention and reward principles.
Winter Door Fee Increases
To support the fair and reasonable referee remuneration increase, and in acting in the best interests of our members, an attempt to 'front-end' some likely additional costs that will present when we relocate and operate from our new, state-of-the-art facility at HBF Arena has been made. The Board has approved some nominal door fee increases, commencing this Winter 2017 season across the Association's multiple venues.
The Board were resolved that no spectator costs would be increased this Winter, across any WBA-goverened competition.
Senior Domestic Player Door Fee - increase of $1 [to $8]
Junior Domestic Player Door Fee - increase of $1 [to $4]
Junior Family Pass Door Fee - increase of $2 [to $10]
