Both the Women's and Men's Merriwa Tavern & Bistro Joondalup City Wolves teams have won their way through in two to the 2016 SBL Semi-Finals series.

The Men's team were the first to qualify, beating the Perth Redbacks by an enormous 25 points.

It was a ruthless Wolves outfit that presented at Belmont Leisure Centre on Friday night. As news spread through the stadium of Greg HIRE's late omission, the Wolves starting 5 quickly transfixed the crowd's attention to the blistering start to the game and their demonstration of elite Basketball.

Rob HUNTINGTON was left all alone at the top of the arc on three occasions in a row, dropping three triples for 9pts in a matter of minutes. He finished with an equal game high 26pts including 4 triples, and 9reb in a starring role.

Kevin DAVIS played finals Basketball, dazzling the crowd with his aerial work and proving nigh impossible to defend. When 'KD' gets going, it's a genuine joy to watch. He put together 22pts and a mighty 16reb, snatching everything at both ends.

Trian ILIADIS was dynamic, shooting 22pts including 4 from the arc, along with 7 assists and 9 rebounds of his own. His industrious game-style and willingness to work hard at both ends of the floor is considerable ammunition for the Wolves.

Coach ETTRIDGE, who outmanoeuvred the Redbacks coaching staff all evening, praised the role his big men played in the one-sided outcome when speaking post-game to SBL Media.

"Robbie was phenomenal and what do you say about Kevin. The guys just went out in that last quarter and asserted their dominance and made sure there was no question we were going to take care of business" Ettridge said.
