Awesome End of Season Wind-Up

The 'Cornerstone Soccer Club' held its end of year Wind-up on the Sunday following the LNJSA Cup Finals, providing the perfect opportunity for the entire club to celebrate the remarkable Titans' Cup victory in the 13 & Under Premiership Division.

The Club’s end of season celebrations were expertly MC’d by CSC’s Vice President - Todd Ellery (AKA ‘The BFG’), who kept the crowd entertained and ensured that the afternoon was a complete success.

Cornerstone’s players all received a trophy to celebrate their fantastic efforts in 2012 and team coaches, team managers, referees, committee members and parents were all acknowledged for their part in making it a truly sensational season.

Josh Riches capped off a remarkable season as the Titans 'captain, by taking home the Club's most prestigious prize – the overall 'CSC (Character Service and Commitment) Award'.  Josh was selected from an exception group of CSC award winners from each team who were all recognised for their servant hearted leadership, excellent character and commitment to their team and club.  'Fairest and Best' and 'Most Improved' players were also recognised from each team.

The 'Golden Boot' award went to Jared Brough, whose lethal scoring prowess and 23 goals during the regular season contributed to the Titans' very impressive year.

Video presentations of ‘The Season That Was!’ and the ‘Titan’s Cup Victory!’ were highlights of the afternoon.

The club thanked its fantastic team of sponsors, and acknowledged the incredible support from the club’s major sponsor ‘Ventura Homes Group’.

Dr Gavin Riches, Cornerstone Christian College Chairman also delivered a heartfelt message of thanks and support to the Club, which was greatly appreciated.

When all the formalities were completed, players and families gathered to tell stories of the season past and to enjoy the delicious roast beef rolls and drinks.

“Cornerstone Soccer Club has a motto of 'Making Friends, Playing Fair, Having Fun', and in 2012 that was evidenced again and again”, said Club President Neil Fraser.  He continued by saying that “CSC has a lot to celebrate and be thankful for, in particular the way the players and Club conducts itself on and off the pitch, and it is a delight to often receive feedback from other clubs about what a pleasure it is to play against and work with CSC.”

Congratulations to all who have been part of a wonderful 2012 season and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2013!
