The senior season so far - Season 1, 2020
Gladstone Amateur Basketball Association Senior Competitions
PREMIER LEAGUE
"The Devil Inside"
After the first two rounds of the Premier League Men's competition, PCP is the only undefeated side following 57-54 and 45-35 wins against Devils White and Red Devils respectively.
An interesting clash looms against reigning premiers Blue Devils this Wednesday at 7.15pm
Blue Devils' Daniel Green returned to his best last week in his team's 69-62 win against Devils White who have a crucial game against Red Devils in the earlier game at 6.15pm tomorrow.
WOMEN'S LEAGUE
'Lions Roar'
Lions have set the early ascendency in the Women's League competition.
Led by experienced Tracey Calis, Lions put Turbo to the sword in last week's second-round game 49-29 after a 53-34 win against giant-killers KJP Kixx.
Why giant-killing Kixx you may ask?
Well, that's because they knocked off current grand final-winners Devilicious Red 53-52 last week!
Red should of had the chance to atone for the shock loss when they met lowly and winless Turbos last night.
Power Puffs have made a strong start to the season with a gutsy loss against Devilicious Red - 47-41 in round one before rebounding to win 33-28 against Devilicious Black.
Stay tuned for more updates later.
DIVISION ONE MEN
'It's a 12-team comp'
New team Air Ballers, Wolves and old hands Devolds are the three undefeated sides in this competition.
A potential battle between reigning premiers and winners of two of the previous three season's deciders Devolds and Wolves looms next week.
Wolves posted 59-52 and 59-49 wins against Lions Fury and Sharks in rounds one and two.
Devolds were made to work had in its opening three games against Ravens, Taipans and Sharks last night.
Last night's game against a gallants Sharks was with just four players as Albert Maunga's driving to the rim and Jimmy Lamkin's experience shone for Devolds.
It promises to be a super Division One Men's competition for sure.
More later.
