IBA APPOINTS OPERATIONS MANAGER

Ipswich Basketball has appointed Sean Fernance as IBA Operations Manager to commence duty on Tuesday 03 October 2017. After a period of induction when Sean will develop an understanding and awareness of Ipswich Basketball, we look forward to the potential contributions Sean will make to our association.

The appointment of an operations manager is the result of an extensive review of the requirements of an IBA manager, the development of a new position description for the role and a very thorough selection process to ensure the appointment matches the needs of our association at this time. The process is part of positive change currently taking place to ensure our association is the best it can be in all aspect of its operation.

Sean has a Bachelor of Business degree and has considerable experience in management across a number of sporting codes having worked for Gymnastics Queensland, The Confederation of Australian Motor Sport, Basketball Queensland and most recently, AFL Queensland. He has experience in community development, project development, event coordination, and growth promotion within sporting associations.

Sean states that his interest in the role of operations manager at our association relates to his passion for increased participation in sport and a genuine interest in basketball.

Management committee is excited to have someone with Sean’s capabilities and commitment to implement the strategic and operational plans of Ipswich Basketball.
