NSW Fencing Association would like to invite the young fencers of your Fencing Association to attend the “Friendship Cup Weekend”. The 2017 Friendship Cup – Team Championships are held in conjunction with the U/7, U/9, U/11 and U/13 Koala Mini Challenge - Individual Championships.
NSWFA will invite Minime Fencers from Australia, Asian and Oceania to attend.

“ Friendship Cup” - U/9 – U/13 Teams Foil
Equipment: U/7 - U/11 Fencers
Foil, Sabre and Epee Blade Size: 0 – 3 mini blades
800N Underplastron,
350N Jacket and breeches (thick long tracksuit pants may be worn)
Long socks
Chest protectors for girls
U/7 - U/11 Epee: Both boys and girls must wear chest protectors
Equipment: U/13 Fencers
Foil, Sabre and Epee Blade Size: No restrictions
350N Jacket & Breeches (FIE is recommended, but not mandatory)
800N Underplastron
Long socks
Chest protectors for girls
U/13 Epee: Both boys & girls must also wear chest protectors
Foil Bib masks are not required for any age category (but can be used)
* All Fencers (U/7, U/9, U/11 & U/13) must wear 800N underplastron
Entry Fee: All Fencers must be either Junior Registered or Junior Affiliated with their Association or State.
Individual Entry Fee $35
Second entry $25
Team entry Free & Camp Free
* Team entry must be sent in by overseas based Australian State Associations, Countries or overseas based Clubs.
* If a state or country has insufficient number of fencers of one gender for a team, they may enter a composite gender teams within their age group.
• Formula for teams will be sent closer to date.
• Fencers competing in Team events are also kindly asked to compete in the Individual Championships
In the spirit of ‘Friendship’ the Team Event is free. NSWFA will need to know expressions of interest or confirmed numbers for the Team competition by Tuesday 31st October.
To assist with hosting an event of this size, NSW Fencing Association asks that States provide Referees & or DT (able to operate “en Guarde”) for the event.
Referee 1-3 Fencers no referee required
4-9 Fencers 1 referee required & or DT
10 or more 2 referees required + DT
All groups are asked to appoint a “Team Manager” for assist with direct communication point and group entry.
