The PBF also adopted a new marketing name for basketball in Palau that ties in with the very successful marketing logo of FIBA.  The general name for the PBF will be –BASKETBALL PALAU.  A competition is underway to find a new logo to incorporate this marketing name.

The NDP will involve the development of all areas of basketball – players, coaches, referees, score table officials, statisticians and administrators.  BASKETBALL PALAU has also adopted its own series of courses under a National Accreditation Scheme that will increase the knowledge in each area of the sport. 

The NDP will commence in August this year and the next 2 years are already planned for the introduction and conduct of the various components of the NDP, which will all be on line by the middle of next year.  

The PBF Board also appointed a National Program Committee (NPC) to oversee the implementation, conduct and review of the NDP.  Members of the NPC are PBF Vice President, Topps Sungino (Chairperson), PBF Advisor and Board member, Bill Keldermans and Coaching Association President and Board member, Sinton Soalablai.  

The PBF Board is excited about the future.  PBF President Frank Kyota  said, after the adoption of the new Development Plan, “ a nation without a vision will perish and so is a Basketball Federation without a development plan.  We are BASKETBALL PALAU!”.
