A rare visit from FIBA and Fiba Oceania management

Fiba Oceania meets with Koror State Government Youth Division
Fiba Oceania meets with NOC Board of Directors

In October, Palau basketball federation had a rare visit from the Development Director of FIBA, Mr. Zoran Radovic. He visited the basketball venues and met with the officers of the federation. He also had an opportunity to tour the famous rock islands and saw a black tip shark and a sea turtle. The basketball family in Palau only managed to get his feet wet and so we leave it to the next country to finish the job of getting him to swim in the ocean. ha ha..In November a visit from Fiba Oceania Secretary General Mr. Steve Smith and Regan Kama was the icing on the cake as we would say to a very productive year of basketball on the island. Both visits were a great opportunity for the federation to get first hand evaluations and opinions from two of the most prominent administrators of the game. Mr. Radovic visit was short due to other obligations, his remarks and opinions of the federation development in all aspects were well recorded for future references. On the other hand Mr. Smith and Mrs. Kama visit was a great honor and privilege for the federation to have for the overall evaluation of the federations perfomance. They held meetings with PNOC board of directors, Koror State Youth division, Ministry of Education, UK Initiative program coordinator and the officers of the associations under the federation. They gave positive comments on the radio and newspapers to reinforce the overall perforamance of the federeration in the community. They also gave a lot of important and informantive advice and comments on how best the federation can improve in the future to help the coaches, players, officials and administrators move towards better performances in all aspects of the game. The federation wishes to take this opportunity and sincerely thank Mr. Radovic, Mr. Steve Smith and Mrs. Kama for the opportunity to come and see first hand how the federation functions and help us improve in the future. KOM KMAL MESULANG.
