Peched Raw, Rivals downs opponents in IP&E NBL

Defending champion Peched Raw and contender Ngermid Rivals continue their winning ways after beating separate opponents, Friday night in the ongoing elimination round of the 2014 IP&E National Basketball League (NBL) played at the Palau National gym.

Peched Raw collected another win this time at the expense of Medalaii Meda Boyz, 88-72. Five players from Peched Raw finished the game in double digits with Douglas Schmidt Jr, leading the way with 18 points.

His performance was backed by teammates Gino Smau who had 17 while Kalson Dulei and Dennis Castro had identical 11 markers as Sione Isechal normed 10 baskets.

On the other hand, RB Dorado finished the game with 28 baskets as teammates Shonty Ubedei and Jose Melter chipped in 13 and 11, respectively on the losing end.

Meanwhile, Ngermid Rivals showed dominance after their 102-64 victory over the Breakers. Rivals scoring machine King Ngiraboi clipped 31 points their win with teammates Ody Yalap and Vincent Kulas adding 19 and 16 baskets, in that order.

Moses Tarkong and Vince Malweyong, on the other hand, led the scoring chores for the Breakers with 22 and 10 on the losing end.

In other games, Surangel Kings won over the Ranchers, 100-60.

Games resume tonight with the Breakers versus Surangel Kings at 7 p.m. while Wednesday night game will have Matakui against Ngerchemai Ranchers at 7 p.m.
