Breakers, Ksau Imaging Solutions score win in IP&E ABL

Teams Breakers and Ksau Imaging Solutions showed poise under pressure as they won over separate rivals, Wednesday night in the ongoing elimination round of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League at the Palau National gym.

The Breakers showed their experience during clutch situations as they defeated a much younger Nationals 17 and Under squad, 63-60. After the score was tied at 13-all in the opening canto, the breakers managed to outrun the Nationals with a 19-9 run to close the first half with a 32-22 advantage.

From there, the Breakers held on as they went for the win with Yutaka Gibbons Jr. leading the way with 12 points while teammates Basil Gibbons and Joey Sumor chipped in 11 and 10 markers, respectively.

The Nationals pesky playmaker RD Dorado paced his team with 21 as teammate Edward Baysa contributed 14 but on a losing cause.

On the other hand, Ksau Imaging Solutions managed to survived a fourth quarter assault as they routed Matakui, 72-57. Leading 51-32 going into the final quarter when Matakui unleashed a 25-21 run to comeback to the game but was short live as Ksau Imagaing Solutions held on to win the game.

Armando Canseco topscored for Ksau Imaging Solutions with 18 as Josh led the scoring chores for Matakui with 16.

In other games, WCC Hammers drubbed Mercury Optimax, 133-54; Stingers beat PCC Mesekiu, 80-71; Airwaves bested Cardinals, 77-72; Melngoes won over Ranchers, 78-67; WCC Hammers pounded Papago Smooth, 115-66; Meda trounces Blue Shark, 79-62; and Aimeliik Rainers bested Matakui, 45-42.

Games resume tonight with Peches versus Mesang Red Storm at 6 p.m. while Rivals will face the Ranchers in the main game at 7:30 p.m.

No games will be played on December 24 and 25 to give way for all teams to celebrate Christmas with their families and friends. Games will resume on December 26 at the same venue.
