Kabong enters ABL semis

Team Kabong barged its way into the semifinal round after beating Ngerkesoaol, 76-68 last week in the ongoing playoffs of the 2012 season of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League (ABL) at the Palau National gym.

Down 39-33 at the end of the first half, Kabong then outscored Ngerkersoaol in third canto with a 23-16 out put to take a 56-55 advantage. From there, Kabong wasted no time as they continued their surge to score a come from behind victory.

Jason Sied led the charge for Kabong with 20 points as teammate Armando Canseco added 17 while Perry Oiterong led the scoring chores for Ngerkesoaol with 35 on the losing end.

Joining Kabong in the semifinal round was the Spoilers which defeated the Stingers, 103-87 with Leonilo Gonzales and Michael Bombita leading the scoring clutches finishing the game with 35 and 30 baskets, respectively while Douglas Schmidt had 32 for the Stingers.

According to Topps, the games between Aqua Smooth versus Breakers for the no. 2 spot in the semis and the game featuring 4x4 Wheelers against Surangel Kings for the no. 3 spot in the semis is still playing as of press time.
