NPL Night Series resumes with reminder for fans

Football West News

UPDATE: Fans looking to attend this Friday night’s Men’s NPL Night Series matches at Dalmatinac Park are being reminded of the Government restrictions still in place.

The Night Series resumes this weekend following the Covid-enforced break.

But while the full lockdown announced by Premier Mark McGowan ended last Friday, some restrictions won’t be lifted until this Sunday.

These include the wearing of masks, keeping a 4sqm distance and a limit of 150 people, which includes players, coaches, officials and spectators.

ROUND THREE FIXTURES

Football West Competition and Club Manager Dan Israel said: “It is great to have the Night Series competition back up and running so quickly and we’re looking forward to some high-quality matches in what is Round Three of the competition.

“We just want people to remember the attendance limit is still in place for Friday.”

Cockburn issued the entry conditions for fans, which include:

• A cap of 150 people allowed into the venue and this includes all participants, spectators, coaches, officials etc (exclusive of staff).
• Fans of Inglewood and Rockingham have been asked to leave the ground promptly once their match is finished, to allow access for Cockburn City and Gwelup supporters. There will be a one in, one out process at capacity

• Facemasks must be worn at all times

• Safe WA App / Contact Registers: QR Codes will be found at the entry of Dalmatinac Park at the gate. Anyone who refuses to scan or fill in the hard copy Contact Register will be refused entry

• Anyone consuming food and/or drink at the bar or canteen must be seated
All four clubs have been informed of the conditions which affect players, coaches, club officials etc.

The pre-season competition has got off to something of a false start, with just two matches from Round One completed.

The remaining Round One matches have been rescheduled for Wednesday, 17 February, while Round Two, which should have taken place last weekend, is now set for Wednesday, 3 March.

This Friday sees the only two sides with a win coming together as Inglewood take on Rockingham (6.30pm). Inglewood thumped Cockburn 5-1 while Rockingham came from behind to beat Perth Glory 2-1.

After that, Cockburn will look to show an improvement when they meet Gwelup (8.30pm).

The other games in Round Three take place on Sunday.

At Frank Drago Reserve, Glory and ECU Joondalup wrap up the Group A games at 5pm, followed by Balcatta against Bayswater City (7pm) in Group B.

And at Percy Doyle Reserve, there is a repeat of last year’s final when Floreat Athena meet Perth SC (5pm). This match precedes the Sorrento v Armadale game, which kicks off at 7pm.
