NPL Night Series: Semi-final line-up complete

Football West News

Perth Glory completed the line-up for the NPL Night Series semi-finals with a 5-1 victory over Armadale.

Glory knew a win at Dalmatinac Park would likely be enough to secure second place in Pool Two, such was there superior goal difference over Inglewood United.

And they wasted no time getting the job done, scoring three times in the opening 15 minutes through Charlie Leech (2) and Carlo Armiento.

In the second half, Ciaran Bramwell and Giordano Colli piled on the misery for Armadale, whose goal came from Peter Jacobsz five minutes from time.

Glory will face Pool One winners Perth SC in the semi-final at Frank Drago Reserve on Saturday, 29 February. Gwelup Croatia and holders Floreat Athena meet in the other semi on the same night.

As it happened, Inglewood United were unable to stay the distance with Glory as they went down 3-2 to Balcatta at Frank Drago Reserve.

Harry Evans put Inglewood in front on 11 minutes, but after the break Balcatta’s Joe O’Brien scored twice, one a penalty.

Evans struck again to level. But another penalty from O’Brien completed his second hat-trick of the Night Series and gave Balcatta a 3-2 win.

Bayswater City finished their Night Series campaign with a 1-0 win over ECU Joondalup. Riley Warland scored the only goal.

And there was good news for Rockingham City, whose 2-1 defeat of Cockburn City saw the two sides swap places at the bottom of Pool One.

Ash Rosindale gave Cockburn an early lead, Charlie Bettes soon equalised and Leonardo Salas hit the winner on 58 minutes.
