Floreat Athena gave new coach Ante Kovacevic the perfect start as they made it three wins from three in the NPL Night Series.

Kovacevic would have been delighted watching Floreat dismiss ECU Joondalup 4-0 at E&D Litis Stadium, thanks to goals from Nick Ambrogio, Noah Shamaki and Liam Murray (2).

The result means Floreat are top of Pool One and are the only side in either pool left with a 100% record.

At Dalmatinac Park, second-place Perth SC drew 0-0 with Cockburn City while a Daryl Nicol hat-trick gave Bayswater City a 3-0 win over Rockingham City.

Gwelup Croatia took over top spot of Pool Two as they belted previous leaders Balcatta 5-0.

Goran Stajic’s side had won two from two going into the game. But they were no match for rampant Gwelup, who never looked back after Callum Timmins’ 25th minute opener.

Hasani Sinclair doubled the lead soon after, before second-half goals from Sinclair, Ethan Brooks and Samuel Mitchinson rounded out the scoring.

The earlier game at Percy Doyle Reserve ended badly for hosts Sorrento, who lost 3-2 to Armadale and finished the match with nine men.

Armadale’s goals came from Peter Jacobsz, Roberto Soares and Kevin Ashwood, while Alex Morgan and young sub Daniel Faichney netted for Sorrento, who had Ollie Annis and Tristan Stevens dismissed.

In the other Pool Two fixture, Perth Glory defeated Inglewood United 4-0 at E&D Litis Stadium. Gabriel Popovic, Vince Lea, Jacob Tratt and Ciaran Bramwell scored for Glory.
