Balcatta moved to fourth in the NPL WA on the back of a deserved 2-0 win at Rockingham City on Saturday.

Bad weather made play difficult for both sides in the first half, with the wind making it a challenge to keep the ball in play.

Balcatta kicked into the the wind in the first half and many of their passes fell short. But Rockingham couldn’t make the most of the assistance from the elements and they nearly fell behind near the break when Balcatta’s Shubham Mokala outstripped the Rockingham defence but missed the shot, much to the relief of the home crowd.

Though the strong winds persisted through the whole game, the rain died off in the second half.

Balcatta came out raring to go and two goals in as many minutes gave them the points.

Man of the match Alex Castiello opened the scoring on 50 minutes and 60 seconds later he set up Ben Pellizzari for the second.

The result means Rockingham have taken just one point from the last 18 and they remain in 10th place, three points above bottom club Stirling Lions.
