Domfeh, Hore lead Glory six-appeal

Michael Domfeh and Henry Hore both scored twice as Perth Glory underlined their title credentials with a 6-1 win over Forrestfield United at Ashfield Reserve.

Forrestfield defended well in the opening half hour, but Domfeh and Hore scored before the break to give the hosts some breathing space.

Hasani Sinclair pulled one back for the visitors before Glory took charge with four second-half strikes including late goals for Chok Dau and Trent Ostler.

The emphatic result for Glory's youngsters put them a point behind leaders Bayswater, who play on Sunday against Inglewood. But coach John Gibson still thinks his side can improve further.

"I'm a pretty demanding guy and I want to get better in every game," he said.

"There's a lot of things we can still work on, the result was good as was the performance, but we've got a tough run of six games coming up now."

Gibson also praised his players for their ruthlessness in front of goal.

"We're always going to be exciting, energetic and enthusiastic, especially going forward, and it's just a matter of capitalising on those opportunities when they do come," he said.

"But it's fantastic to see them add things to their game and I'm super happy. It's fantastic to see the guys share the goals around, they work hard and they deserve it."

The two sides were evenly match for the majority of the first half as Daniel Walsh headed over a corner, before Jordan Hart failed to get the required power on his shot to test Jackson Lee.

But the pace of Glory's front three eventually broke the deadlock as Dau drove down the right and pulled back for Domfeh to tap into an open net.

It was 2-0 with the last kick of the first half as Hore scored brilliantly into the bottom corner from a free-kick.

Forrestfield came out of the blocks in the second half and pulled one back early on as Sinclair brushed off his marker and fired powerfully beyond Lee.

A goalmouth scramble nearly led to an equaliser with Wilbert Tshabangu getting the final touch as the ball went just wide, but a freak goal would turn the game's momentum again.

Domfeh charged down Luke Martino's clearance and the ball looped up and spun into the back of the net to make it 3-1.

Three became four as Yacoub Mustafa was felled in the area and Hore stepped up to score from the penalty spot.

Dau managed to score a well-deserved goal with 16 minutes to play after Bayley Brown-Montgomery picked him out and he fired in with his left foot.

Brown-Montgomery was in the action again late on as he combined with fellow substitute Trent Ostler to make it 6-1 and put the icing on a fine performance from the Glory.
