Zimarino gives Perth win at Floreat

Football West News

Perth SC moved to within two points of third place in the NPL WA after a 1-0 win away at Floreat Athena in Round 17 of the National Premier Leagues WA.

Paul Zimarino scored the only goal two minutes before half-time to leave Floreat just a point above the bottom three.

Perth coach Ramon Falzon had challeneged his side to avenge their FFA Cup loss to Floreat and at the same time keep the heat on leaders Bayswater City, who play at Inglewood on Sunday.

He got his wish, with Perth digging deep in the second half to secure three vital points in Football West's first Belt up. Round.

"It's not an easy place to come and get the three points," Falzon said.

Perth SC keeper and captain Francis Soale said: "They threw everything at us, we dealt with it."
