National Premier Leagues Golden Boot winner David Micevski has become Inglewood United’s latest signing after agreeing terms with the club.

A former Australian youth international with professional experience in Australia and Indonesia, Micevski adds quality and depth in the final third as coach Michael Garcia puts the finishing touches on his squad for the coming winter.

“I’m very happy to be signing for Inglewood, it’ll be an honour to pull on the Gold and Blue,” said Micevski, who snared 16 goals last year for Stirling Lions.

“I’m excited to get to work with Michael and to start training with the squad. They say things change quickly in football and having some close friends at Inglewood helped with my decision to join the club.

“Inglewood is a club heading in the right direction. Club president Luke Martin and coach Michael Garcia have both expressed their desire in making the club successful both on and off the field.

"I’m looking forward to the season starting. I’m confident we can do well and, hopefully, I can help the team push their way up the table.”

Micevski has firmly established himself as one of the WA scene’s premier ball players. Spells with Perth SC, Western Knights, Balcatta and Stirling reaped four league Champions medals along with four Fairest and Best prizes.

However, his crowning achievement was winning the 2009 Gold Medal as a Knights player.

And it’s not only on the local stage that Micevski’s talents have also been recognised. He wore Perth Glory colours for two seasons, gaining 25 A-League appearances, and represented Australia at Under-23 level.

“Helping Australia qualify for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games is something I’m very proud of,” said Micevski, who played one season for Indonesian side Solo prior to a short stay with Myanmar champions Yangon United. He intends to continue that success into 2015.

“The top four should be our ambition and I feel we have the player to achieve that,” he said. “There’s a lot of quality and experience in the Inglewood team, which is needed for a successful season. I’m hoping to pass on my experience and knowledge, especially to the younger boys, to help achieve the clubs’ goals.”
