Big weekend of football

Perth Soccer Club and Cockburn City will aim to continue their 100 percent records when they battle it out in Round Five of the National Premier Leagues WA Night Series on Saturday.

Both sides have started their 2015 campaign in great form and have already booked semi-final spots in the pre-season competition.

According to the Perth SC website, coach Taki Nicolaidis expects a big challenge against an equally matched team in Cockburn. He knows his side will have to improve on last weekend’s performance when they needed a late Clark Keltie goal to beat Inglewood United 3-2.

The Round Five action kicks off tonight at Macedonia Park.

Stirling Lions take on Division One side Shamrock Rovers, while Subiaco will meet Bayswater City.

Armadale will face Sorrento on Saturday at Dorrien Gardens.

ECU Joondalup reports defender Ryan Lowry will return to the squad to take on his former club Inglewood United, while according to the Inglewood website Scott Blackmore considers this weekend’s outing as potentially the toughest yet for his side.

Floreat Athena will be up against group leaders Balcatta on Sunday.
