Promotion and relegation will be introduced to the National Premier Leagues WA for the first time at the end of the 2015 season.
After input from NPL WA and State League clubs as well as the State League Standing Committee, and following the circulation of a subsequent discussion paper, the Board of Directors of Football West has determined to promote and relegate one team from each of the NPL WA and State League Division One after next season.
Subject to meeting Eligibility Criteria, the winner of the 2015 State League Division One will compete in the 2016 NPL WA competition, while the last-placed 2015 NPL WA club will be relegated.
Other decisions include:
• The NPL WA and two Divisions of the State League to continue to consist of 12 teams.
• Existing promotion and relegation between State League Division One and Two maintained.
• Separate NPL WA and State League Night Series competitions to run in 2015.
• The State Cup will act as the preliminary Westfield FFA Cup rounds from 2015.
