Silent tribute to football friends

The lives of two “friends of football” will be recognised at separate National Premier Leagues WA grounds this weekend.

The sad passing this week of former WA State team player Mr Vince Radcliffe and long-time Floreat Athena supporter, Mr Evangelos Litis, will be acknowledged by players, officials and fans.

A moment’s silence will be observed at the match between Floreat Athena and Perth at E&D Litis Stadium, which kicks off at 7pm on Sunday, in acknowledgement of Mr Litis, who helped fund the redevelopment of Athena’s home ground in 1998.

A pre-game silent tribute will be paid to Radcliffe at the match between Inglewood United and Sorrento at Intiga Stadium tomorrow. Radcliffe played for, and coached, the Gulls and was a hard-working volunteer at Inglewood for many years.
