National Premier Leagues WA clubs have assisted in formulating a fixtures schedule that offers a greater spread of matches, the excitement of night games and two rivalry rounds.

Football West today released first team fixtures for the inaugural NPL WA, which will see 12 clubs competing for the right to represent WA in a national finals play-off series.

Kick-off times and venues for 60 junior teams will be made public next week with the launch of the new NPL WA website. The NPL will be contested at U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U18, U20 and senior levels.

The senior season kicks off at 3pm on March 8 with Bayswater City hosting Armadale at Frank Drago Reserve, Perth Glory taking on Perth SC at Intiga Stadium, ECU Joondalup against Cockburn City at ECU Sports Ground, Subiaco tackling Stirling Lions at the WA Athletics Stadium and a night match at E&D Litis Stadium when Floreat Athena hosts Inglewood United at 7pm.

The opening round will conclude on Sunday when Sorrento takes on Balcatta at Percy Doyle Reserve with kick-off at 3pm.

Over the course of the season, matches will be played on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights with nine games played under lights.

WA’s rich football history will be highlighted in special rivalry games to be played in round four and 15 when all clubs will celebrate their unique passion for football.

The first team finishing top of the table after the 22-round home-and-away season will compete in the NPL Finals Series against the winners from each of seven other Member Federations.

Member Federations from WA, SA, Victoria, New South Wales, Northern New South Wales, Tasmania, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland will contest NPL competitions this season.
