There were four teams who are qualifies to compete in the finals including Moroni boys against Animarao JSS and SMC against Moroni girls. On Saturday 27/08/11 the semifinals was hit by fours for boys and girls (Animarao defeat TUC1 boys and BTC JSS was defeated by SMC).  Animarao defeating TUC 1 with the high score 36 of 28 as now Animarao will be compete with Moroni boys who are the number one during the round of the game.  For girls BTC leading the score in the first half 16 of 12 and in the second half SMC push hard until they reach their opponent with a tie score 22, 22.  In the last 5 minutes SMC was taking the lead until the last 6 second in the second half of the game.  SMC (Santa Maria College) will be defending Moroni girls to compete for their goal.

Game time regulation

The half game of 20 minutes is a time usually runs for junior level as it is to meet their standard except using the quarter as they will be hang over and tired in the second, third or the last quarter.

Junior development squad

The Kiribati Basketball Federation and together with NBDO will carry out the selection during the finals as to select young boys and girls between ages of 16 and under and train them for the preparation of next year event.  Not only the juniors but to be carry out also at the Senior level including U19, U22 and so on.  This will be conducted according to an NBDP selection criterior.
