I'm delighted to advise that, following Tom's Volleyball England Overall Coach of the Year Award for 2012, there is even more good news to follow - he has been selected as a nominee for the UK Coaching Awards in London, later this month. The Awards will be presented by HRH The Princess Royal.
The following is an extract from the official invitation Tom received:
"Congratulations! You have been selected as a finalist for the UK Coaching Awards, supported by Gillette. Hosted by sports coach UK, the Awards recognise and celebrate the talent, hard work and dedication of coaches and those involved in developing coaching.
In this exceptional Olympic and Paralympic year, the competition was very strong in all categories, with a total of over 400 nominations from 35 sports. Our judging panel of coaching experts from across the UK had a particularly difficult time in deciding the finalists. I am delighted to inform you that you have been short listed for the Children's Coach of the Year Award."
This is brilliant news, and thoroughly well-deserved recognition for Tom's efforts with grass roots volleyball, across all disciplines, throughout Kent.
Tom is busy polishing his shoes as I pen this message.
Rumour has it that he is also checking out the storage facilities at The Lancaster London Hotel in case they have a bit of spare room for a taraflex floor and a couple of hundred volleyballs..........
Good luck for later this month, Tom, and we hope you have a great evening.
